About RoboCamp
Inspiring young minds through robotics and STEM education
Proudly run by Whitney High School Robotics
Our Mission
At RoboCamp, our mission is to inspire and educate the next generation of innovators through hands-on robotics education. We believe that early exposure to STEM concepts through the exciting medium of robotics competitions helps students develop critical thinking skills, teamwork, and a passion for technology.
We strive to make robotics accessible and engaging for elementary and middle school students, providing them with the foundation they need to become future leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Program Details
Comprehensive Curriculum
RoboCamp is a summer program designed for incoming 4th through 7th grade students for the 2024-2025 school year. Each camp offers 35 hours of intense study mixed with interactive activities. Our curriculum covers:
- Fundamentals of Lego Robotics using Lego Spike Prime
- Structural integrity and basic sensors
- Engineering design process
- Gear ratios and mechanical advantage
- Modular programming techniques
- Problem-solving through robotics challenges
Two-Week Program Structure
Our camp is divided into two week-long sessions, each with a unique focus:
Week 1: Fundamentals (June 2 - June 6)
Focuses on the fundamentals of robotics within a team competition environment. Students learn the basics of robot construction, programming, and teamwork.
Week 2: Advanced Skills (June 9 - June 13)
Guides students through the process of creating a more advanced, specialized robot. Students apply their knowledge to more complex challenges and compete in a simulated FIRST Lego League competition.
What Students Learn
Technical Skills
Robot design, programming logic, mechanical engineering concepts, and problem-solving techniques.
Teamwork
Collaboration, communication, role assignment, and working effectively with peers toward a common goal.
Project Management
Planning, time management, resource allocation, and iterative design through real-world challenges.
Refund Policy
We understand that plans can change. Our refund policy is designed to be fair and transparent:
- ✓May 4, 2025: Last day to receive a 100% refund
- ✓May 10, 2025: Last day to receive a 75% refund
